In 2009 I ran the Marine Corps Marathon with the West Point cross country ski team. I was an 18 year old Plebe at the time and trained for a whopping two months to prepare for the event. Our team ran in support of the Friends4Michael Foundation, which provides support to families whose children are fighting brain tumors.
I always told myself that one marathon is enough running for a lifetime...until I got an email from the Veterans Employee Resource Group at AbbVie at the end of May. The group is putting together a team to run the Marine Corps Marathon on October 28th, 2018 to raise funds for the National Psoriasis Foundation.
About 15 minutes after the email hit my inbox, I signed up for the race and committed to raising $1,500 for charity. All money raised by Team NPF Run provides people with psoriatic disease the services they need to live well, while funding research for a cure.
