Meet Adult Honoree, Ed Lover
Ed Lover, a recent inductee into the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, is a legend in the entertainment industry as an actor, musician, comedian, DJ and radio personality. In the 1990s, Lover was part of hip hop collective No Face, and, along with greats such as Dr. Dre, pioneered the global exposure of hip hop music and lifestyle via Yo! MTV Raps. He served as a host of nationally syndicated The Morning Show with Ed, Lisa and Dre on Hot 97 in New York and continued to work with Dr. Dre as co-stars in the film Who’s the Man. Lover has hosted shows on major stations in New York (Hot 97, Power 105.1 and Kiss 98.7), Los Angeles, SiriusXM, Philadelphia’s Old School 100.3 and the newly syndicated The Ed Lover Show, distributed by Reach Media/Radio One. He has been seen on a plethora of sitcoms and commercials (AT&T’s commercial for Beats Music, ABC’s sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, TruTV’s Friends of the People, CNN’s The Eighties and Rickey Smiley for Real), and served as host of Gotham Comedy Live (AXS TV) while touring the nation as a stand-up comedian. Currently, Lover can be seen on the web series C'mon Son, which pokes fun at celebrities, pop culture, politics and the world.
Meet Honorary Medical Co-Chair, Jodi E. Ganz, M.D., F.A.A.D
Dr. Jodi Ganz knew that she wanted to work with people at an early age, and explored psychology, nutrition and public health before she chose clinical medicine. She was drawn to dermatology specifically because it combined all the things she loved: on-going patient care, microscope work and surgery. Dr. Ganz is Board certified in Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Atlanta Dermatological Association, and Women’s Dermatologic Society, among others. Dr. Ganz earned a BS from Cornell University and an MD from the University of Virginia, where she also served in residency. Dr. Ganz is married and has two children. Outside of the practice, she enjoys running, yoga and a good meal.
Meet Honorary Medical Co-Chair, Jamie D. Weisman, MD
Jamie D. Weisman, MD grew up in Atlanta, graduated with honors from Riverwood High School and went on to attend Brown University. At Brown, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English literature and graduated magna cum laude with honors. She received a fellowship to study in Cairo, Egypt at the American University in Cairo, and then came home to attend Emory University Medical School. Dr. Weisman stayed at Emory to complete her internship and residency in dermatology. A writer as well as a physician, she is the author of the memoir, As I Live and Breathe: Notes of a Patient-Doctor. She has also published articles or been profiled in Life, Glamour, O magazine, National Public Radio and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Weisman has participated in numerous clinical trials and has lectured on the treatment of psoriasis. Her areas of interest include not only the treatment of psoriasis but also auto-immune skin diseases, as well as general medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, including Botox®, fillers and laser therapy.
