Dr. Jeffrey Sugarman
Dr. Jeffrey Sugarman was awarded an NIH training grant in 1988, and received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of California San Diego in 1996. He then completed residencies in pediatrics at the University of Washington Childrens Hospital in Seattle (1999), and in dermatology at UC San Francisco (2002). He is board certified in pediatrics, dermatology, and in pediatric dermatology. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in Dermatology at UC San Francisco and in private practice as the medical director of Redwood Family Dermatology in Sonoma County. He is an active member in his local medical community and has received the 2009 award for outstanding contribution to medicine in Sonoma County. He is past president of the Sonoma County Medical Association. Dr. Sugarman spends a significant amount of time teaching clinical dermatology and was recently recognized with an outstanding teaching award. Dr. Sugarman has a special interest in atopic dermatitis, acne, psoriasis and in rare genetic skin disorders. He is the author of numerous journal articles and book chapters in these fields and spends a significant amount of his time engaged in clinical and translational research in dermatology.
